Sheri Rush is a Chicago based painter whose practice includes photography and collage. Rush holds a BFA from Texas Christian University and a MFA from the University of Chicago.
Rush’s work explores the ineradicable nature of memory and the contemporary diminishing experience of the sublime.
Recent exhibitions include the Rockford Art Museum, Ralph Arnold Gallery, The Art Center Highland Park and a solo show at Hyde Park Art Center. Recent awards include a fully funded residency to the Pouch Cove Foundation in Newfoundland and a grant from the Illinois Art Council Agency to fund an upcoming solo show at the Evanston Art Center.
